Joanna Papaxanthou

Occupational Therapy Assistant / Support Worker

Joanna (Jo) is currently studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at Monash University. She can provide either Occupational Therapy Assistant services or support at home or within the community as a Disability Support Worker.

Jo is excited to be involved in a career that offers meaningful and fulfilling opportunities to make positive contributions to the lives of others.

Jo has had exposure to children with special needs from a young age having family members with down syndrome, autism and ADHD. She gained further knowledge in this area by working in an all abilities kids gym. This has given her an understanding of what it’s like for families living with children with disabilities.

Outside of work and study she is either going for a walk with her dog or spending time with her family. Jo enjoys playing netball and has previous coaching experience. She also loves to travel, go to music concerts and watch TV shows.

Damaris Mocanu

Occupational Therapy Assistant / Support Worker

Damaris is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Primary Education and holds a Certificate IV in Learning Support. With her background and skills, she offers both Therapy Assistant services and Disability Support Worker assistance, providing care either at home or within the community.

Damaris brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as a Childcare Music Educator, where she used music and art therapy approaches to support children with Autism and ADHD. Her passion for helping young individuals develop their unique interests and skills shines through in her work, and she feels privileged to be part of each child’s journey.

A true creative at heart, Damaris is passionate about music and art, which she often integrates into her work. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, creating artwork, or composing new music. Damaris is thrilled to bring her creativity and warmth to her role as an OT Assistant and Support Worker, and she looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of those she supports.
