As a self-funding client, you do not require a diagnosis to access OT services with Willow Therapy, however there are specific eligibility criteria for accessing funding options e.g. NDIS. As OTs are concerned with everyday living skills, we work with children of all ages and abilities. This includes children and adolescents aged between 0-12 with or without a diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
No formal referral is required for our service. You can contact us at any time to book an assessment appointment for your child. However, it is recommended you check what funding options are available to you. For more information refer to the FEES AND FUNDING OPTIONS page.
For NDIS participants, the main difference is that you can only access unregistered providers if your NDIS plan is Plan Managed or Self Managed. Whereas if you are NDIA Managed, your options are restricted and you can only access NDIS registered providers. If you Self Manage your NDIS plan, unregistered providers will send their invoices to you to pay and you will then have to manually claim the funds back from the NDIS using the NDIS portal – but if you’re Plan Managed, your Plan Manager does this for you.

Most schools highly value input from us and have usually recommended the referral in the first place. We can help schools new to Willow Therapy understand how OTs can help and work in the school environment. However, if we are unable to work within the school, then we usually try home based therapy instead and work closely with the school to come up with a plan so that your child will not miss out on accessing strategies for school.
